Tife's devo - June 17th

John 3:16 For god so loved the world that he gave his only son and whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life

Jesus got killed despite the fact that he had never sinned and was actually the son of God.

As soon as Jesus actually died, the veil tore and people realized the mistakes they had made.

The person that actually had Jesus killed, Pilate, did not actually want to kill Jesus.

I'ts very easy to blame God because they let killed him, but god had done it on purpose. And I used to do, but don't. Jesus died for us to forgive our sins(checkthe memory verse) and we should never blame God for that, and we shouldn't blame god for anything, really. Jesus is now the most popular and clean person ever in the bible.

FUN FACTS

Temi's devo - June 19th

Starring Jon

Hi! Today’s lesson is about praying no matter what!

J:Hi.

I brought John here today because he has a problem with something! He has a huge competition about the WORD OR GOD, but he doesn’t know what to do to win the 100,000 bucks. So John, can you tell me more about what’s going on?

J: I have a competition and I don’t know what to do to win!

So what are you planning to do in the first place?

J: Memorize Psalms 23.

And do you know what it says?

J: No.

Isn’t it tomorrow morning?

Yes.

Can you pray?

J: What IS that?

Praying is talking to God for something that you want or need, or thank him for what he has done. You pray about anything!

J: Can I pray about a nice wife?

Yes!

J: I can ask him for new headphones?

Ding ding ding!

I can ask him for a new leg

Correct! Wait…. What?

J: How’s this for a prayer?

Go ahead.

J:...

Don’t forget to bow your head, close your eyes, and fold your hands!

J: Father, please give me wisdom for my love of you oh Lord. Give me knowledge and love for all my friends and family. Give me a loving relationship with you and my enemies. And also, can I have new headphones? Amen.

Great!

Tobi's devo - June 22nd

"Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us." - Ephesians 3:20

God's plan for our lives is bigger than what we can imagine, and sometimes it may seem impossible for us to achieve. But the good news is that God has infinite resources to accomplish His plan in our lives. We just need to trust Him and have faith that He will provide for us.

When we feel like we don't have enough resources to accomplish what God has called us to do, it's easy to become discouraged and doubt God's plan. But we must remember that God is the creator of the universe and has all the resources at His disposal. We can trust that He will provide everything we need to fulfill His plan for our lives.

In the Bible, we see many examples of God using His infinite resources to accomplish His plan. For instance, in the story of Moses, God used a staff and the Red Sea to lead the Israelites out of Egypt. He provided manna from heaven and water from a rock to sustain them in the desert. God even used a donkey to speak to Balaam when he refused to listen to Him.

We also see how God provided for the needs of His people through the life of Jesus. He healed the sick, fed the hungry, and even raised the dead. Jesus' ultimate sacrifice on the cross made it possible for us to have eternal life and a relationship with God.

As believers, we have access to these same resources through the Holy Spirit. When we trust in God's plan for our lives and rely on His power, we can accomplish anything. We don't have to be limited by our own abilities or resources because God's power is at work within us.

So, let us remember that God has infinite resources to accomplish His plan in our lives. We just need to have faith and trust Him. He is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine. May we rely on His power and be confident that He will provide everything we need to fulfill His

Tobi's devotion - July 6th

Background Story: Jesus has been teaching and preaching. He just fed 5,000 people with a couple loaves of bread and a few fish. He goes away to pray and the disciples go ahead of Him on a boat to cross the water.

Read Matthew 14:22-33

22 Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowd. 23 After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. Later that night, he was there alone, 24 and the boat was already a considerable distance from land, buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it.

25 Shortly before dawn Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. 26 When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost,” they said, and cried out in fear.

27 But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”

28 “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”

29 “Come,” he said.

Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. 30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”

31 Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?”

32 And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down. 33 Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, “Truly you are the Son of God.”

Big Idea: Jesus is the constant.

Maybe today in your life, you find yourself full of faith like Peter walking on top of the waves. Or maybe you are surrounded by life’s storms and feel like you’re barely keeping your head above the water. The good news is… no matter if you feel like Peter on the water or Peter in the water, there is one constant in this story that doesn’t change.

In science, the “constant” is the variable or item that remains the same in the experiment. It remains unchangeable no matter what happens around it. What is the constant here? The constant is Jesus. Whether Peter was walking in faith or Peter was sinking in doubt, Jesus was ALWAYS walking towards him. Jesus never left him, moved, or gave up. Jesus continued to reach towards Peter inviting him to Himself.

In life, there may be moments of weakness where we might feel like giving up. Even though we feel the rollercoaster of life, thankfully Jesus is not like us. “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever” (Hebrews 13:8). He remains unmovable, unshakable and unchangeable in His constant pursuit of you no matter your past or present.

Jesus sees you. Instead of pretending you’re fine while the waves roar around you, call out to Him like Peter, “Lord, save me.” When we do, we will realize that Jesus has never left our side and is right there with His hand extended out towards us ready to draw us close to Himself. And as we see His faithfulness time and time again, we too will worship with a greater faith saying, “Truly you are the Son of God.”

“Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever” (Hebrews 13:8)

Tobi's devotion - July 13th

Whether you try something new, like tofu pizza, or choose something you’ve had before, like a hamburger and fries, we all love to choose from a menu and have a super friendly person bringing tasty things to eat.

Have you ever thought about how it is to be the one serving you?

Think about it: servers approach a table of strangers, introduce themselves, try to be nice, and do their job well, but they don’t know ahead of time what the customers will be like. Would you be nervous? I imagine some people would feel anxious about a job like that, because customers are not always nice to servers.

Everyone feels anxious at some time in their lives. For example, you might feel anxious if you are waiting on a letter to get accepted into a school or on a basketball team. That nervousness about not knowing is anxiety. It’s important to pay attention to how you are feeling and understand what makes you anxious and why. If a server has too many rude customers in one day, they may become anxious about their next shift or even about dealing with people in general. When they can recognize that feeling, pray about it, and maybe take a break, they’re more likely to be able to stop the anxiety they are feeling.

Joseph probably felt anxious when visiting Egypt. He had been sold into slavery by people he trusted—his brothers! He was accused of a crime he didn’t commit and thrown in jail. What might happen to him next? But Joseph put his trust in God, who equipped him to serve the entire nation of Egypt, as well as the family that had sold him into slavery, during a famine. Joseph must have known that God could be trusted through all the ups and downs of his life—even through anxiety and fear.

Trust in Him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to Him, for God is our refuge. (Psalm 62:8, NIV)
